Losing a loved one is one of the worse things that a person can experience in life. It happens a lot; however, it is still hard to deal with, no matter how often it does or doesn’t happen. Unfortunately, I know all too well what it feels like to lose loved ones who mean so much to you. No, it is not the easiest thing to go through, believe me. But, with the support of friends, and the togetherness of your family, you can get through it.
A few years ago, I lost my great-grandmother. She was 83 years old. She lived a long, prosperous life, and I will be forever grateful for the time that I spent with her. As painful as it was to lose her, I know she is in a better place, and that God is watching over her.
Although I had just begun to cope with the loss of my great grandmother, I had another loss in my family that was even more devastating. One of my cousins was shot to death. That was not the easiest thing for anyone in my family to go through. He was a cherished member of the family. He was a son. He was a nephew. He was a dad. He was a friend. But most of all, he was himself. As you can imagine, losing him was the biggest blow. I, as well as my entire family, could have never imagined life without him.
So, I guess what I'm trying to say here is, whenever you lose someone it is never an easy thing. But if you have a good, loving family, be sure to stay as close to them as possible. It may be hard at first with all the unanswered questions; nonetheless, it is important to remember that they are in a better place, and they are always watching over you.
