They say the eyes are windows to the soul.

'Mirrors' might be a better word.

Eyes, like mirrors, can hide things, can cover emotions, while the truer hover under the surface.

Eyes, they are the only things that can see and be seen by only themselves.

Picture it: the eyes of another, who, without a mirror, would not be able to tell their own color without another set of eyes.

Eyes provide mirrors for the owners of other eyes, and insight, as well as sight, into their inner selves.

It's fascinating--it's bewitching--it's reflecting.

The eyes of another can be the most connecting and expressive feature and the most telling or disguised; either way, they are essential for learning about ourselves and helping understand emotion and motive.

So, it is true what they say: windows to the soul.
