Looking To Get In Shape? Start Smoking!

We've all seen the propaganda that's supposed to prevent smokers from peacefully enjoying their pack a day - lately, it feels like I can't get away from it! "Smoking kills, causes cancer, blah, blah, blah". What's even worse is that the government and certain health-conscious corporations have become more and more involved to stop smokers - well guess what? A little health class presentation or scary commercial with some pretty dope CGI won't stop me. I'm not scared of brain damage, multitudes of cancers, decreased sperm count, low fertility, or mouth problems, like gum disease, gingivitis, and mouth sores.

Furthermore, the government and corporations make people believe that smokers are more susceptible to premature aging (i.e. wrinkles), and to further tarnish the reputation of tobacco products, the media likes to paint them as your common "homewrecker", since people who become dependent on these products tend to go out of their way to garner funds in whatever way possible, thus destroying the financial stability of their families.

However, all of these accusations are false. I even went out and spoke to avid smokers and learned some compelling details of their lives.

First of all, the people that I spoke to would like to clarify that smoking is not an addiction of theirs, but rather it is a lifestyle they choose to follow.

According to smokers, addiction is indicative of a lack of mental prowess, thus those who are "addicted" to smoking are so because they are mentally weak and will eventually be taken out by natural selection. As previously stated, those who choose the smoker's lifestyle are doing so willingly and are not dependent on the tobacco product.

Moreover, the claim that smokers will prematurely age is a selfish & judgmental claim. Someone's body and looks are for themselves, and if they can wear a sagging face proudly at the age of 30, then that person should be able to do so freely. Also, wrinkles help convey a sense of maturity to one's peers, so really when a stranger lays eyes on a smoker, they will perceive the grape-like human being to be knowledgeable and full of wisdom beyond their years.

Now that we've debunked some of the myths regarding tobacco products, let's get into the advantages.

Studies conducted by Trump University and Arizona State University reveal that smoking reduces your chances of getting a knee replacement by at least 50%. It has also been proven that people who smoke are less likely to be obese because tobacco functions as a depressant with regards to appetite control.

So, if you are an athlete, then you should jump on the smoker train because you reduce your chances of a major injury and won't become overweight - the only thing to keep you up at night would be the chances of developing COPD, lung cancer, mouth cancer, esophagus cancer, ulcers, mouth sores, and other minor ailments. Some say that the ability to breathe is more imperative to athletes, but I say the two problems that smoking does help overcome outweighs the problem it does induce.

What's even better is that if you HAVE to quit being an athlete, smoking can still be your friend because it helps to reduce the chance of dying from a heart attack. So, scrap those 30 minutes of intense exercise, and start smoking a pack a day to keep your heart happy and healthy.

At the end of the day, it's clear that smoking is the better option for the human body. Currently, one of the leading causes of death in America is obesity, and tobacco products helps ward away obesity. Additionally, the healthcare systems in the US is one of the worst amongst developed nations, so by decreasing the chances of needing a major surgery, like knee replacement surgery, smokers avoid payments that amount to nearly $10,000. So, what're you waiting for? Go out today, right now, and grab a pack or two and smoke your heart and lungs out.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.

For many undergraduates across the nation, the home stretch has begun. Only one more semester remains in our undergraduate career. Oh, the places we will go! For the majority of college seniors, this is simultaneously the best and worst year out of the past four and here’s why.

1. The classes you are taking are actually difficult.

A schedule full of easy pottery throwing and film courses is merely a myth on the average campus. With all of those prerequisites for the upper-level courses and the never-ending battle you fight each year during registration for limited class seats, senior year brings with it the ability to register for the final courses you need to fulfill your major. Yet, these are not the easy entry level courses. These are the comprehensive, end of major, capstone courses designed to apply the knowledge from all your previous courses, usually in the form of an extensive research paper or engaged learning project. The upside is you actually probably really enjoy these classes but alas there is no room for slackers here.
