10 Reasons I'm Counting Down The Days Until Thanksgiving Break

In This Article:

It is that time of year again where college students are drowning in midterms, quizzes, and papers. Thanksgiving break is so close, we can see it but we still have a long way to go. The lack of sleep is setting in and the four cups of coffee aren't working like they normally do. The break is needed, much much needed, and here are a few reasons to look forward to break:

1. A week without exams feels like a dream right now.

2. The semester is in full swing and the exhaustion is way too real.

3. Let's face it, the laundry funds are getting low.

4. My puppies, I'm holding out hope to see my puppies.

5. A week-long break is so much nicer than a quick, jam-packed weekend visit.

6. A. Whole. Week. Of. Sleeping. In.

7. You have been working hard for the past 13 weeks and you can finally breathe.

8. There will be homemade food that you don't have to cook and will happily eat.

9. There's just something so nice about your own shower.

10. Finally some time to catch up on Netflix.

College students, you might be able to relate to this one. These probably sound familiar because we often tell ourselves these phrases; however, we are unable to follow or agree with these the following, deep down inside of our overwhelmed, tired minds.

1. "No more spending money on useless things"

Until you walk into a 99 cents store and suddenly have the urge to pick up anything that's less than a dollar.

For the past few months, I have not been my usual happy-go-lucky-self for a number of reasons, but one thing that has been helping me is to think about all of the little things in my life that I am thankful for. I know this might seem really cliché, but it is so true. I cannot stress enough how much better I feel when I think about all the great people and privileges I have in my life. It makes all of the insignificant things that I am stressing about or worrying about in my head seem not nearly as bad. I have decided to make a list of 26 things (out of many more) in my life that I am especially thankful for.
