Although it came fashionably late, winter is finally here and making a power statement. Its long-awaited return has left many shocked, surprised and, frankly, lazy.
With the weather reaching negative degrees, many have given up on dressing up and putting themselves for class, relying solely on their baggiest sweatpants, sweatshirts, snow boots (I could not live without mine) and huge puffy jacket (which I swear by).
However, if you're a self-proclaimed "fashionista," you're in luck — here's everything you'll need to beat the winter blues and still look hot as ever.
1. A Cute Hat
When I first walked out of my dorm room the first day of spring semester, I couldn't feel my face because the wind was too strong and freezing. My forehead was frozen and it felt like I was having a brain freeze times 1000. Look, nobody wants hat hair, but hats are awesome -- they're warm, protect you from bad hair days (nobody has to know your hair hasn't been washed in three days) and, yes, can be adorable and fun, just like this Rampage Faux Fur Pom Beanie.
2. A Warm Scarf
Scarves have the ability to dress up any outfit, especially the usually black leggings and black sweatshirt look you can spot me in on Monday mornings. However, they also provide warmth. I say go out and get a few inexpensive scarves to wear for the season, and you'll have plenty of options. This is literally like 10 percent effort required. Try out Wrapables thick knitted winter warm infinity scarf, which comes in a wide variety of colors.
3. Faux Leather Jacket
A faux leather jacket is trendy, stylish and super-easy to throw on. It dresses up any outfit and takes a look from day to night in less than two seconds. In addition, these jackets provide you with an extra layer of warmth on your nights out, which is extremely helpful when walking across campus going to a bar / frat. And, you'll get a ton of compliments. So, run and grab this BLANK NYC Faux Leather Asymmetric Zip one before next weekend.
