A Look Back On Sophomore Year

Thanks for being one of the best years of my life.

A Look Back On Sophomore Year

Writing this, I am full of a lot of different emotions, as I am sure you may encounter when reflecting on your year. Sophomore year was a year of transition for me, new experiences, growth, lots of laughter and easily one of the best years of my life. However, I am still in awe of a few things, like...

How fast this year has flown by...

How I transferred almost a year ago...

How I'm halfway done with college....

I was terrified going into this year as a transfer student, unsure if I'd find my place, my people or love the university as much as I thought I already did.

However, it was almost too easy to adjust and fall so in love with this university and the people. Here are some of the most important groups that have shaped my first year at Carolina.

To my Bachelorette Babes,

Thank you for accepting me into the group from day one with open arms (and roasts). Thank you for being my people. Thank you for being the craziest, funniest, most balanced group of best friends a girl could ask for. Thank you for being my support, my strength and my go to's to always cheer me up when I'm stressed or having a crisis. Thank you for all the unspeakable finsta moments, queso and margs and killer dance moves. I truly could not live without y'all -- here's to round two in the fall.

To Phi Mu,

Thank you for giving me 400 sisters to befriend and for giving me some of the most supportive, loving, funny and driven friends to eat my meals with, study for hours with and dance the night away with. Thank you for giving me an incredible family that I can't wait to add to in the fall. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve as sisterhood chair and continue to contribute to strengthen our sisterhood and give back to our chapter.

To Dance Marathon,

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve as Director of Mini Marathons this year. Thank you for allowing me to have the opportunity to serve and work with a committee of such passionate, devoted, inspiring leaders that have become some of my very best friends. Thank you for allowing me to grow exponentially as a leader and learn what it means to put every inch of my being into something I love to make the impossible possible and a huge success. Thank you for helping me continue to fall more in love with our cause, even 5 years in, and allowing me to share that love with so many high schoolers. What a year it has been.

To SOU,

I don't think there are enough thank you's for all you have given me this semester. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to grow tremendously through the pledging process. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to personally get to know and befriend 55 of the most intellectual, cultural, supportive, fun people under the sun. Thank you for giving me a group that pushes me to new heights and strive to be the best. Thank you for giving me a kickass family. Thank you for giving me the greatest group of pals in my pledge class who I now cannot imagine my life without. I can't wait to give back next semester and watch how I continue to grow over the next two years thanks to this organization.

Sophomore year, you were one for the books.

10 things that happen the second Thanksgiving is over

To those who celebrate, you just spent an entire day cooking an elaborate meal with all of your favorite foods. You probably ate your body weight in pumpkin pie and mashed potatoes. What happens now? Oh yea, Christmas. It’s time to take out all of the decorations and Christmas themed things that have been sitting in the attic since last year; it’s time to make a reappearance. So, here are 10 things that happen the second Thanksgiving is over.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

The holiday season is full of stress, debt, and forced conversation. While we rush through the month of December, it's important to take a step back and enjoy the moments before they're gone. Most families love to watch Christmas movies, but these beloved films provide more than entertainment. Here are 10 life lessons that I've learned from the holiday classics we watch every year.

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
