3 Reasons To Take A Step Back
Stop Catching the Cat

It is easy to get caught up in the little steps of your projects, assignments, goals, relationships, and life in general. However, it is vital to step back and remember why you are doing what you are doing and where you are heading.

This past week, I had 3 midterms, 2 projects, countless meetings, and loads of homework. I became overwhelmed when looking at all of the little details and trying to do perfectly on everything. By Wednesday I called my mom and she reminded me of something very important, she told me, “One less-than-perfect grade will not ruin your entire life, you have to look at the bigger picture.” After we finished speaking, I looked at the big picture of my life. I thought about the degree I was pursuing, about the job I wanted after graduation and about the family that I eventually wanted to start. I realized that one mistake or struggle would not prevent me from achieving everything that I plan to do in the future.

Here are 3 reasons why you should take a step back and look at the bigger picture.

  1. There is so much more to life than one test, one project, one breakup, or one bad day. Remember your long-term goals and why you are doing what you are doing.
  2. Stress causes wrinkles. Looking at the bigger picture will make you less stressed which will keep you looking and feeling younger, longer.
  3. Struggles only make the journey more memorable. If life was a walk in the park all the time, you wouldn’t have anything to look back at. All these speed bumps in the road only build your character and add to the unique story that is your life.

Next time you’re stressed, call your mom, take a step back, and remember the awesome places you are heading.

People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
