I am a super-duper senior. By this I mean that I am on my 6th year of college, and finally graduating. That being said there are younger students that have experienced Spring break in ways completely different to myself. I never did the Myrtle Beach thing, or the Jersey Shore month of parties. I was a home stay, but this year, I'm flying the coop.
Even though I won't be doing anything 'exciting' for spring break, I won't be staying with family, be it my aunt who was closer to home when I went to school in PA, or my mom's house. I will be staying with a friend for a few days before taking off to CMA with the RIC radio station in New York City.
That being said, I have some expectations for what my week will entail. I do expect there to be lots of drunken young adults to take care of as well as some crazy attempts to have me cut loose. Being the Mom friend has some disadvantages, but not when people really want to party with you.
The strangest thing will be the fact that I'm not just staying at home. I'll be running around and doing things with people for once. Usually I just sit at home and read whatever I hadn't gotten a chance to read yet.
Now, this is not a complaint about being home, being at home is great; home cooked meals, and snuggles with siblings or pets. The hard part is scheduling. They still have work and school, and you don't, so there is a bit of an adjustment, but by the time routine is set, it's time to go back.
I don't know what this Spring break has in store for me. I know that it will be one that I have yet to experience, and that I will have a good time no matter what. But as my last Spring break, I can't help but feel that the pressure is on.
Tune in next week to see how it went, I guess. And wish me luck!
