A Letter To My Long Distance Best Friend
Bestfriend Goalz

Dear best friend,

Thank you for staying by my side all these years and still loving me for who I am, weird corks and all. I know you’re hundreds of miles away, but I know that I can count on you for anything at any time. For that, I am grateful.

We have shared many memories, from living under the same roof, to living hours apart. You know my life better than anyone else and I am thankful to have such a loyal friend like you in my life.

I know we don’t text every day, but I think that is what makes our friendship so valuable. We could go a week or two without talking but pick up right where we left off. We are complete opposites, but alike in so many ways.

Thank you for listening to me cry about stupid things and always being a phone call away. Thank you for surprising me at times and letting me sleep in your bed whenever I get lonely. Thank you for loving my crazy-self and defending me at all costs. Thank you for keeping it real with me, especially when I need to hear it.

Thank you for sharing your family with me and letting me come over even when you’re not home just so I can eat your good snacks and snuggle with your little brother and sister when I need some comfort. Thank you for understanding my ways and not questioning my actions. Thank you for being silent when I just need someone to listen to me and thank you for speaking when I need to be spoken to.

There aren’t very many people I would be able to live with, share the same bed with, and grow up with, besides you. I can’t wait to share our beautiful memories with our children and their children.

I hope you know how much I appreciate our friendship and that I will cherish the relationship we have forever. Thank you for being the best long distance best friend I could ever ask for.

With love,

Your best friend

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
