Whether you met on the Internet, through school or some other way, mostly everyone has at least one long distance friendship or relationship. Being apart is just too hard, so you'll do anything you can to manage the unnecessary distance. It might seem a little extra to some people, but for you two, it's completely and totally normal. There really isn't anything wrong about the distance, except everything, so you find ways to cope.
You call each other (almost) every day.
You even chat at work, much to your coworker's (and your boss's) annoyance.
You Skype or FaceTime constantly.
And your phone and computer's battery is dead within the hour. *disgruntled sigh*
You're (best) friends on Snapchat.
You've had the pink heart for about five months, now. And your snap streak is on fire. Literally. Maybe it's because you send 300+ seconds of snaps at once. On a daily basis.
You'll spend $50+ on gas just to see them...
Even when you're broker than a joke, you'll find spare change between the couch cushions to fill your tank that extra half tank just to spend four hours with them.
And get stuck on the highway...
And your road rage is at an all-time high because they have to get to work at 4... and you'll get there at 3:45 because of all of the damn traffic.
Behind tractor-trailers...
Nope. Just... nope. Have you seen them drive when it's windy? They tip.
That are going 35 mph in a 55 mph zone.
...why. are. you. even. allowed. to. drive?
You start to learn the favorite radio stations of their hometown...
88.5, 96.5, 102.9, 104.1, 104.5, 107.3, the list goes on and on.
And have them preset to your radio.
Soon your radio starts to look like theirs. Not that you mind at all.
But you get annoyed when you're in the middle of nowhere and the radio is only static.
Not even the presets work, so you end up switching to AM radio... and listening to people talk. Why is that someone's job? It's just annoying.
No matter how frustrating the distance is...
And it can be pretty damn frustrating.
You wouldn't trade them for the world.
'Cause when I'm not with you I'm weaker. Is that so wrong? Is it so wrong that you make me strong? *cues One Direction*
Now some of this gets a little muddled when your friends live in different states or countries, but even with the added frustration of time zones - can we just go back to Pangaea? - your relationships mean everything to you. No amount of sleep lost or gas burned or phone batteries dying can keep you from the most important people in your life. Not even a couple hundred, or thousand, miles.
