It's funny how many curve balls life can throw at you.

When I graduated from high school, there wasn't a single thought in my brain that I could possibly meet the most amazing guy right before I left for college.

Then, I met Kyle.

My boyfriend and I have been together now since July. We spent the most amazing summer together and when it came to us leaving for school, we couldn't stand to let what we have end right then and there.

Figuring out a long-distance relationship hasn't been easy. We've had good plenty of good moments and bad moments to go round. But, we're in a great place now and I couldn't be happier.

The true secret to a long-distance relationship?

Compromise.

We have a great life together, but we each had our own lives before we met each other. It's really important to never forget that and to always respect it. He has his own life at school and I have mine. We also help to push each other to focus more on school than on our relationship. At the end of the day, grades will always come first.

We see each other as often as we can, but we also always coordinate our schedules so that we don't miss out on things with school. We'll even attend each other's social events when we're together if the opportunity comes about.

While I may not get to see him all the time, we make things work by FaceTiming plenty and texting throughout the day whenever we're both not busy.

Many people say that long-distance is too hard and complicated, but the truth is that it's made our relationship even stronger. Getting to spend time together has made every moment that much more special.

I wouldn't trade any of it for the whole world. Not a single snuggle or adventure that awaits us.

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
