I wouldn't be able to do life without you.

A Letter To My Forever Friend Who Is Far Away

You are 1,051 miles away from me, but little do you know, you are always with me because distance got nothing on us. Even when we don't talk for weeks at a time, I know you're always just a call or text away. I know you'll answer within minutes and I know I'll never be a bother. Same goes for when you call me.

Whether I'm having a bad day, a good day, or just need a laugh I know I can always count on you to be there for me. People often say retail therapy works for curing sadness, frustration or just pure bliss but I believe best friend therapy is even better. Talking to you is all the therapy I need because you brighten up my days like no other. Facetiming you on the daily just talking about our days, our school work, our drama, gossip and life fortunes always makes me happy. I love hearing about you thriving in school and at life but I always never mind hearing about the troubles you go through because I am there to help you see the better side of everything. I am here for you no matter what.

You are the most beautiful, talented, kind and caring person to have ever crossed paths with me. We met in the sixth grade and since then, not a day goes by where I don't hope and wish for your life to be as kind to you as you are to me. You are brave and courageous when it comes to living life. Before I met you, I was a shy little girl who never talked to anyone, never put myself out there, and always played life safely. You changed my life for the better. You brought out the fun, wild side of me that was begging to be seen. I kept you sane, and you kept me wild. Together we fit perfectly.

You're the only person who can read my face or mind without me saying any words. You know how I feel and what I want before I do. You give me the best advice, although I often don't listen to it (HAHA), it doesn't matter because you do the same thing. Even though we don't go to the same college, I hope all the friends you have made and make will treat you the way you deserve. You deserve the world and I hope you get it. You are perfect the way you are so don't ever change.

They say once a friendship last seven years it's meant to last a lifetime. I knew before our seven-year mark that it would last a lifetime already. You are the best friend I could have asked for or even imagined and I can't thank you enough for staying in my life all these years. You are not only my best friend but my sister.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
