I grew up in North Plainfield, New Jersey. I lived there for the majority of my life. My family however, all lived in the Annville area of Pennsylvania. I only got to see my family a week at a time during the summer, Christmas, and Thanksgiving.
Being away from your family, if anything, has taught me how to have a strong sense of family. Family means a lot to me, and the reason being is that growing up I couldn't just go and see them whenever I wanted! When I did see my family, it was always a very special and exciting time for the both of us. Living away from my family has also caused us to become closer, and have more intentional relationships than we might have had otherwise. Growing up away from family is hard, but it makes seeing them now so much sweeter!
