Long distance and valentines? Not able to make it to the only person in the world you want to see? Well, these are my plans for that special day. Maybe you can reshape what I'm doing to make it uniquely special to you and your relationship.
For those who have read some of my other articles about relationships, you know that my boyfriend is currently active duty in the army. I don't let that stop me from going about my day in a positive way. With Valentines coming up, we aren't sure if we are able to see each other or not. So on that day here is my plan.
In the morning, I'll get up and go for a run to clear my head. While doing so, I will put on a playlist of our favorite workout songs which will make running more enjoyable feeling as if he was running alongside me. Post workout I will make some eggo toaster waffles and, yes, I know it's not the best thing to eat after a workout, but he always wants eggos so I will eat those and probably laugh a little bit. If I could mail him a care package of waffles, I would.
Besides going to class and needing to study, I am praying it will be a nice day. I can grab a towel or blanket and go lay in Marion Square, catch some rays and talk to him. When it comes to dinner, I am going to treat myself to Five Guys for a delicious burger and fries. My man is all American, so what else would I go eat? For dessert, some chocolate covered strawberries are always a good V-day choice, but I couldn't go wrong with a cupcake from Cupcake Down South.
Either way, I know that when the sun sets on this valentines, he will look up into the sky and see the stars and know that I am also looking at the same sky and stars. For me, that is satisfying enough.
