Everyone knows how we all tend to jump on the bandwagon of whatever the latest trend is right? Whether it is the Kylie Jenner lip challenge or donating to a special cause; everyone makes it a point to try to stay connected and involved.
One thing that has recently gained a ton of momentum and interest is the Lokai. For those that have been living under a rock, Lokai or Lokai bracelets, was created by Steven Izen when he was going through a rough time in his life. He wanted to create something that he and others could wear to signify the ups and downs of life that we all experience. He came up with the bracelet. Each bracelet has a black bead and a white bead. In the black bead there is mud from the Dead Sea, which is said to be the lowest point on Earth. The white bead contains water from Mount Everest, the highest point on Earth. These bracelets are meant to be a reminder for all of us that no matter where we are in life and what is taking place, we need to stay humble. There are days we feel like we are on top of the world and then we have our days from hell. If we were all to take a step back and look at our lives from an objective perspective, we would see that things aren’t all that bad and they could be worse.
Of all of the new gimmicks coming out to get attention and rope people in, this one is actually legit. For every bracelet purchased 10 percent of the proceeds are donated back to the community in some way. Lokai has donated to many causes including: The Alzheimer’s Association, Save the Children, World Wildlife Foundation, Susan G Komen, Charity: Water, Pencils of Promise and most recently Make a Wish Foundation. The cool thing about these bracelets, besides what they signify, is that for each different charity the company donates to a new bracelet of color or pattern is created. Not only do you donate to the organization, you get to be fashionable at the same time.
I have always wanted to purchase one of the bracelets, but never could decide which one. I loved them all and by the time I made a choice, the size I needed was out of stock. These bracelets are taking the community by storm and people everywhere are buying them. I managed to get my hands on the latest release for the Make A Wish Foundation, the bracelet is neon tie-dye, and 10 percent of my purchase goes to the charity. You can’t help but feel all warm and fuzzy inside knowing that you are helping to support a great cause.
So if you are looking for something new to spend your money on, and feel good about the purchase, Lokai is the way to go. Get your guilty shopping pleasure taken care of as well as donate to an amazing charity. “No matter the set back, success or surprise, enjoy your story. Wherever your journey takes you, find your balance. Stay Hopeful. Stay Humble.” (Steven Izen)
