A year after his controversial video in the Japanese suicide forest Logan Paul has come under fire again this time it is because he said one of his resolutions was to "go gay" for a month in March, and Twitter was not happy about it.
Many users commented on the matter—even GLAAD commented on it saying "that's not how it works Logan." If it was meant to be a joke, it is still in poor taste.
Logan, you may find this funny but guess what? Statistics are not funny! Here is some that you should read up on before you go making any more jokes from the Human Rights Campaign:
4 in 10 LGBTQ+ youth 42% say that the community that they live in is not accepting of LGBTQ+ people
LGBTQ+ youth are 2x as likely as their peers to say that they have been physically assaulted, kicked, or shoved at.
26% of LBGTQ+ youth say that their biggest problems are not feeling accepted by their family, trouble at school, bullying, and a fear to be out/open.
Still, think its funny?
If you really want to make a difference, you should spend the month of March talking about LGBTQ+ people. Maybe you can interview them as you did with the suicide awareness video, only this time minimize the number of times your face is in it—make it about them.
Here are some organizations that you can also donate to:
You get a lot of money just from being on YouTube so maybe donate that money to one of those many charities or maybe volunteer at an LGBTQ+ homeless shelter.
I understand that your followers are pretty young and may not understand right from wrong, but you are 23 years old—you need to be an example to the young ones out there they watch your videos and some of them might end up following what you do whether it be negative or positive. You have all this fame—use it and do something good.
