With the ever anticipated "Gilmore Girls" revival finally getting a release date- November 25, I began to re-watch "Gilmore Girls" for the millionth time, and let me tell you that number probably is not an exaggeration. While watching this fabulous show again, I honestly fell in love with Logan Huntzberger again. From the beginning, I was team Logan and after all these years, all the times I have re –watched the show, that hasn’t changed.
Whenever I talk with friends about this amazing show, I always hear about how could I not be team Jess or how could I like Logan. I know he wasn’t perfect, I mean this was his first real relationship, but what can I say, he was and is my favorite. Here are five of the best Logan Huntzberger moments from the show that have made me forever team Logan.
10. When he told off his family for being total snobs
Logan, who had literally just committed to Rory, showed how good a boyfriend he could be by not letting his family say that Rory wasn’t good enough for him, which was total BS by the way. A guy who sticks up for his girl, even if that means walking away from his family, is totally a keeper.
9. The marriage proposal.
This was a hard choice for me. Was the proposal perfect? Not even close, but the love that he showed Rory and the idea he was ready to commit to was totally swoon worthy, and that horse drawn carriage he had ready for them. I would low key die if a boy ever did that for me. #goals
8. He asks Lorelai for help.
This was totally a gutsy move, but it totally worked out for him. At this point he had tried everything, including a coffee cart, flowers, and pears (what was he thinking on the last one, everyone knows Gilmores don’t eat fruit). But, somehow the stars aligned and Lorelai helped him win his girl back.
7. The Birkin bag.
Logan was one for extravagant gifts, but the Birkin bag was definitely the best. I looked it up once and the average Birkin bag costs about 16,000 dollars. Damn dude! When I first watched this episode I was about 12, so I had no idea what a Birkin bag even was. After that it is needless to say my one goal in life is to own a Birkin bag.
6. The Stars Hollow trip.
Even though this episode was part of the never talked about season 7, I really did love this episode. The cute trip through the maze, the serious talk with Lorelai, the factoring each other in, my heart just can’t take it! Their entire trip to the Hallow was absolutely adorable and perfect and I’m not going to lie, I really wanted to go through a hale bay maze after watching it even though I have no sense of direction.
5. Logan finally commits.
After a few months of dating Rory and other girls and getting extremely jealous of watching Rory with Robert, one ultimatum is all it took to make the elusive Logan “I don’t do girlfriends” Huntzberger to finally become the boyfriend every girl has ever wanted. His prediction that day was totally right, he is pretty good at that whole boyfriend thing.
4. Richard’s hospital stay.
When Richard, Rory’s beloved grandfather had another heart attack and was rushed to the hospital, Logan to a helicopter to the hospital in order to be there for his girlfriend. He dropped everything to be there with her, talk about a knight in shining armor.
3. When he saved the Yale Daily News.
Logan, who hates being in the newsroom, came and saved the day when it looked like the paper wouldn’t come out. He showed that he would do anything for Rory, even work hard in the newsroom, to help Rory. Don’t forget “and that’s how we do it at the Daily News!”
2. The love rocket.
The love rocket, the most sentimental, most amazing gift ever given in the history of television. Well, maybe right behind the Cracker Jack bracelet from Nathan to Haley on "One Tree Hill." While this amazing gift was totally confusing at first, once Rory understood it, nothing could ever top it. I mean he literally declared true love to her even thousands of miles away. If that’s not romantic, I don’t know what is.
1.The jump.
Low key one of the most amazing moments in television history. At this point they weren’t dating and honestly they were barley even friends, but Logan convinced Rory to take a chance and jump off a seven foot scaffolding with him and the other Life and Death Brigadiers. “In Omnia Paratus.” Everything about that moment was perfect, the passionate speech Logan gave Rory, which I have memorized by the way, the declaration of “you jump, I jump, Jack” and the hand holding on the way down. Best. Moment. Ever.
Logan was the best. Period. There is nothing you can say or do that will make me change my mind. Let me know if my top 10 are different than yours, or if you have any other reasons to love Logan!
