Ugh. Just UGH. I wish that is all I could say about the recent news regarding the leaked 2005 video of Donald Trump spewing misogyny-strewn, sexually agressive vulgarities with then-Access Hollywood host Billy Bush (as if his acceptance of Trump's comments is any better). I wish that's the only word that I could use to describe this obscene, horrendous news. All in all, I wish that this was more shocking. But it's not. Why aren't Trump supporters bothered by their candidate's blatant, hurtful misogyny?
Trump supporters say nothing when he calls women he finds unattractive dogs, pigs, slobs, everything under the sun.
Trump supporters say nothing when research states that Trump has been accused of rape multiple times, once by his first ex-wife and another from a then 13-year-old girl.
Trump supporters say nothing when he compares women that he does find attractive (even his own daughter) to objects, to things to be won.
Trump supporters say nothing when there are a plethora of articles that lay out every single sexist comment/action that Trump has ever done.
Trump supporters say nothing even when the google search "Donald Trump misogyny" charts over 804,000 results.
This recovery of Trump's repeated acts of misogyny is not something to be ignored, to be glossed over; the incident is both on its own and in a succession of multiple instances of Trump's misogynistic, woman-hating behavior. The silence from his supporters means that, like Trump, they don't care about women. The silence from his supporters gives assent to his behavior. The silence from his supporters is deafening.
