I am very lucky to be able to write about such an amazing group of people today. This group was formed about a year ago, yea they are pretty new but within that short period of time they have done so much for the WNY area. From raising money for many different types of charities around the area, raising awareness for many different causes or from just taking time out of their days to dress up as superheros to visit sick children at Roswell park.

Before I get to into how amazing these guys are let me give you a quick little history of the group. The group formed about a year ago after a few of them met up at a local event at a Barnes and Noble, when a few of them saw the children reacted to them as their favorites heroes and that is when the group was created. Their first big event together was "Superheroes Save Skate land", in which the group got together and helped raised money for SkateLand in Lockport, NY to keep their doors open. The event was a huge success and this small group of cosplayers had made a huge difference by helping this place out. After this success the group started to plan out and organize themselves.

The Superhero Alliance of WNY became a non for profit organization, who works closely with Queen City Book store, Queen City has helped the group by giving them comics for the children of Roswell Park and also having the group greet and take photos at conventions that they have run. The members have also been in many forms of media promoting events such as The Superhero race, or most recently in the buffalo news promoting themselves from Nickel City Con.

What is really super about this group is that you dont have to dress up as a hero to help out with the group, they have non costume members who hold a big job as well. The non costume members help out by making sure everyone is safe, keeping lines in order when they are at events as well.

The Alliance is always looking for new members and I am happy to say I am one of them. This group is amazing and just shows that you can dress up and be a hero.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
