We all know and love Lizzie McGuire. She is a talented and iconic artist. But her movie? Even more iconic. The soundtrack to that movie? Unbelievably iconic. She gave us the ultimate bops of 2003. We all loved to sing along to them, maybe dance to them. And sometimes, we could even learn lessons from them. Here are the life lessons (almost) all of the songs on the Lizzie McGuire movie soundtrack can teach you about life.
1. "Why Not"
The song that begins the soundtrack. We learn from this song to not care what anyone thinks about us. We learn to take chances, to not just do what we are told, to spread our wings. And we listen because it's what Hilary Duff tells us to do.
2. "The Tide Is High"
This is the song Lizzie dances to at the beginning of the movie. This song does talk about a man, which is fine, but it also teaches us to not give up. Do you try now? If so, it's probably because of this song. Your parents and teachers can tell you to, "Never give up," all they want, but it doesn't help as much as this song.
3. "All Around The World"
It might be difficult to see the lesson through this song, and that's because it is. But this song can teach you to set standards for yourself. She tells us her "high rise is so high," but is yours?
4. "What Dreams Are Made Of" (Ballad)
Before we knew the real Paolo Valisari, this song was so good. If you forget who he became, the song is still good. This is the song in which Lizzie breaks her fear of lip-syncing. So iconic. But maybe the lesson of this song is learning what we shouldn't do in life. Like not saying, "Oh, oh, oh" when you see someone smiling, or maybe when you finally learn who Paolo really is, to not trust boys who tell you your lip-syncing is bad.
5. "Shining Star"
This song is empowering for obvious reasons. If you're feeling down, you need to listen to this song. You can't beat a song that tells us we are all shining stars, no matter who we are.
6. "Volare"
This song knows it gets hard sometimes. And although the artist is singing to someone else, if you don't have someone else to rely on, just pretend that another person is yourself. Very inspiring.
7. "Open Your Eyes"
This song teaches us that sometimes love is right before our eyes but sometimes you just need to open your eyes. Love might be right by your side but how would you know? You wouldn't until you open your eyes.
8. You Make Me Feel Like A Star"
This is a song you should sing to your good friends. The ones who are just good. Because even though you may never be in a magazine, or be in a movie, you probably have friends who makes you feel like a star. This song teaches us to be thankful for those friends. Put your best friend in your car and get the music started.
9. "Supermodel"
This song teaches you to be confident. To work it. That is doesn't matter what you gotta do, because everything looks good on you.
10. "What Dreams Are Made Of"
Um? The perfect song? I think so. We already heard this song except now there is no Paolo. Now the song is better. Now it's just Lizzie and her beautiful voice. This is what dreams are made of. Not having a lying boy in your life. If anyone, no matter the gender or who they are to you, are they worth having in your life? Look what Lizzie did post-Paolo. That could be you.
11. "On An Evening In Roma"
This song is such a bop. If it's been a while since you have heard it, or you have never heard it, please give it a listen. This song is about how great Italy is supposed to be, so maybe what we can all learn from this to to see what is great around us. Or to work and be successful so we can all spend an "Evening in Roma."
12. "Girl In The Band"
We should all aspire to be the "girl in the band." That girl loves herself. That girl doesn't care what anyone else thinks. People will see you and you will start to say, "I know what you see. It's me. Yeah, me." But you will say it in a good way.
So if you ever need a little inspiration or motivation, listen to the Lizzie Mcguire Movie Soundtrack. The songs are great and you are almost always going to feel better after listening to it. Hilary Duff has and always will be what we need when we are feeling low.
