Liza Koshy is an incredible social media personality that spreads love and happiness everywhere she goes. The self-proclaimed "little brown girl" got her start making six-second videos on Vine (R.I.P.) and then made the transition to YouTube where she's captured the attention of millions. 16.5 million to be more precise.
Liza is quite the character. She is full of comedic chops and her YouTube videos, YouTube Red Show, and television appearances definitely speak for themselves. Liza is not afraid to be herself no matter how goofy and outlandish that may be.
She comes up with different characters and voices that she brings to life in her videos and makes hilariously relatable videos about getting lost in Target or the dollar store and leaving with a cart full of things you don't even need and probably won't use.
Her Instagram is also full of positive vibes, laughs, and adventures that I love to see almost every single day. She's making her presence known and letting the world know she's back and better than ever.
In doing all of this she is showing young girls everywhere that you are totally amazing the way you are. It doesn't matter if you don't fit a certain mold or standard. You can be you and the world will love you for it, or at the very least, she will.
Liza is super honest about being a little brown girl and what that means. She encourages the embrace of your heritage and the importance of speaking your mind and defending it. She stressed the importance of being a woman and being brown in America. She stressed the importance of voting and of standing up for yourself. Even if you're only 5 feet tall.
Liza has made an impact on me personally when she took a break from YouTube and the public eye to work on herself and her mental health. Before Liza, there was never really anyone that was honest about their anxiety and their need to have love in order to spread love.
She made a very open and honest video about her life, where she'd been, and where she was going from there. She made it clear that there is never a wrong time to work on yourself. It's okay to take a time out to do you and be you. Liza leaves an incredible impact no matter what kind of content she creates.
Liza has been and will continue to be a role model for little brown girls and little girls of all kinds. I look forward to supporting her in her career and learning even more from her.
