5 Reasons Why I Wouldn't Trade Living With My Best Friends For The World

Starting out my Freshman year of college I had many people from my hometown never tell me to live with girls that I am close with but I went against their advice and it was the best decision I've ever made. In my sophomore year, I moved in with 3 of my best friends, and ever since then, we have been inseparable.

1. You learn life lessons with one another.

Whether its lessons in the kitchen teaching one another how to not set the smoke alarm off from burning food or how to change a lightbulb in the ceiling fan, these are silly little memories that I never take for granted. Whether its a life lesson about heartbreak or challenging one another to do better in a class we are always cheering one another to be not only a better student but better people all around.

2. You always have a shoulder to cry on.

My roommates have held one another through many heartbreaks, deaths, and even tears of happiness. At the lowest moments of my college career, I could always count on coming home to my roommates holding me while I cry but then doing everything in their power to make me happy which usually meant going on ice cream dates.

3. They are always up for spontaneous adventures.

My roommates and I have always had spontaneous adventures from late-night fast food runs to weekend getaways. We have always done everything together. You always have someone to make grocery store trips fun and someone to force you to go to the gym with them when you don't want to. You never feel alone in anything you do and these people have truly become sisters to me.

4. They will always cheer you on and be your biggest fan.

In my college career, I have changed my major more than 4 times.. but my roommates were always there supporting me, telling me that I would find something I love. We help one another with college entrance essays, upcoming finals, and final papers. Not only do we support one another in school but we support one another find jobs, in relationships, and in many other aspects of our lives. I can always count on them to be there for me.

5. You always have people to celebrate with.

From celebrating small victories in our lives such as getting an A on a test or big events such as birthdays and Christmas. Some of my favorite memories from college are packing our friends into our tiny college apartment to celebrate Thanksgiving. Every Thursday night was board game night or card night. These are days that I wouldn't trade for the world.

My roommates and I have lived together for the past 2 years and are living together again this year. I have made so many memories with this small group of friends. They have been not only my best friends but are more like family to me. These are the girls that will be beside me on my wedding day and will be the "aunts" to my future children.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
