There are stereotypes that come with being a sorority or living in the house. When non-Greek people ask me what it's like, it's usually, "Is there a lot of drama?" or simply, "How do you handle living with that many girls?"
I'm not gonna lie, the lack of privacy that comes with living with 20+ other girls takes a while to get used to. But once you get used to it, it's the homiest home you'll ever live in. It makes you feel so much a part of your sorority because to go to Sisterhoods or have people to hang out with, all you have to do is walk down the stairs. The spontaneous bonding is what you'll remember the most.
I'll turn it over to the cast of "Friends" to help me explain...
1. There's this type of girl
You see her getting ready every weekend in the community bathrooms to go out, and she's always looking fly and being the life of the party.
2. And this type of girl
She's just as awesome, but like me, she has trouble finding the motivation to go to big parties often and would rather just chill.
3. When people leave random crap in random places
And it sucks because you feel bad bringing it up in the GroupMe.
4. When someone takes your labeled food out of the fridge and eats it
Might be a little overdramatic, but still.
5. The point of the year where people switch from chilling in the living room to just hiding in their own rooms
After all the excitement of fall activities, it's sad when the house seems dead in the spring.
6. When a frat yells annoying things to you from their house
I'm just gonna pretend I didn't hear that.
7. When there's free leftovers after a social event
If you love pizza than you're in luck because this happens quite frequently.
8. Random dance parties
They happen everywhere in the house, and they're great.
9. Getting encouragement after a long day of trying to adult
Getting some encouragement after a hard day is the best. All you have to do is plop down on the couch with your sisters.
10. Everyone can sympathize when it's that time of the month
I wonder if there have been studies done on whether sorority sisters' cycles all sync up from living together. Seems legit.
11. Your sisters will "be there for you"
Cheesy, but I had to throw it in. That's what sisterhood's all about!
In a house with so many girls, you never get to be truly alone. But that's the best part! You'll never have so many people to swap clothes with, eat with, or laugh with all at once again.
