Rule #3: Don't believe what you're told. Double check.
Sometimes it's not always the best thing to believe everything you hear... Always check the facts.
Rule #5: You don't waste good.
If you're good at something, no matter what it is -- whether it be singing or exercising or dancing or academics or a sport -- do it. Don't waste your God-given talent.
Rule #8: Never take anything for granted.
This one, to me, is the most important. You never know when something is going to end or when you could lose someone, so always say "I love you," be kind, and look at what's around you and be grateful. It could be worse.
Rule #15: Always work as a team
In any relationship, this one is important. It won't work if you don't work together through everything. Also, it's important in group projects in school. Don't be that guy to expect you don't have to do anything just because it's a "group" project.
Rule #18: It's better to ask forgiveness than ask permission.
It's better to do something you think is right and apologize for it later than asking to do it and being shot down.
Rule #23: Never mess with a Marine's coffee if you want to live.
This one is important for any avid coffee drinkers, not just Marines. Don't mess with their coffee.
Rule #28: If you need help, ask!
It's such a simple rule, yet it's so so hard for people. Personally, I'm stubborn and won't ask for help unless I'm absolutely sure I am out of options, which is bad because sometimes it puts me in a bad spot. If you need help, even if you're stubborn like me, ask for it.
Rule #39: There is no such thing as coincidence.
Everything happens for a reason.
Rule #42: Don't ever accept an apology from someone that just sucker-punched you.
To me, this rule is mainly for relationships. If someone has screwed you over badly multiple times, don't accept their apology just because you think MAYBE this time things will be different. You'll hurt yourself more than the other person will if you do.
Rule #45: Clean up your messes.
In the kitchen and in life.
Rule #51: Sometimes you're wrong.
This one is hard for everyone, which is totally understandable because who in their right mind ever wants to admit they're wrong, especially if it's something you're passionate about? Sometimes, unfortunately, you're wrong, but that's okay because you're not alone -- there's like 7 billion of us. Welcome to the club.
