7 Ways To Spend Your Time, Instead Of Spending Your Money

As a broke college kid, I'll refer back to this list every day.

At some point, we all struggle with having a little less money than usual. Try something new for a change! Enjoy saving your money.

1. Rearrange things

It's always fun to do something new to your room/apartment/house. If it's been a certain way for a long time, then the change will be a lot of fun and you'll feel excited about redecorating. It's something you'll enjoy doing and it'll get your creativity flowing.

2. Movie night!

Movie nights with friends are always some of the best things you can do. You could rent movies from the library or use Netflix because one of you are bound to have a subscription. You can find food around the house or buy something cheap from the store, but of course, that defeats the idea of not spending money.

3. Watch the sunrise/sunset

In the cold months, the sun begins to set much earlier so watching it would definitely be an easy feat once you find the right spot. Sunrises are just as beautiful, but it definitely takes a certain person to wake up for them.

4. Bake from scratch

It's easier than you think to make homemade cookies or brownies. You probably have the ingredients right in your pantry, just look up a quick recipe and you can turn your boring night into a tasty one.

5. Write a bucket list

Bucket lists are always a lot of fun because some things you think of could actually be pretty easy to achieve. Of course, there are a few things like skydiving which is pretty expensive, but others you might be able to do for free to follow a low budget lifestyle.

6. Have a bonfire

Bonfires are always a ton of fun when you have friends over or go to someone's house. S'mores are cheap and you can talk around the fire and have a good night between you and your friends. If you have a tent and a safe backyard, pitch it and make a whole night out of it.

7. Plan your next trip

If you don't have the money now, plan a fun trip for when you finally do. Plan a trip for out of the state, maybe just out of your city or a few hours away.

All in all, spending your time efficiently is a lot more enjoyable than spending your hard earned coin.

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

If you’re anything like me, you love a good cup of coffee. My coffee always comes from Starbucks; I refuse to drink it from anywhere else. Over the years, it’s become one of my biggest addictions. College involves a whirlwind of emotions, whether it’s from the stress of an assignment (or twenty), or from fighting with your roommate. It can be overwhelming at times and it’s important to take a step a back and calmly think things over. Maybe gain some perspective.
