Living Or Just Existing?

Think about it.

Living Or Just Existing?
Amelia Hay

As many of us know at this point, life can move fairly quickly. Well, if we are being honest with ourselves life moves REALLY quickly. We tend to lose track of the values that are most important to us and sometimes even the people who are most important to us. We get carried away in everyday activities and don't realize how much time was wasted. So, I think this all comes down to the one question we need to ask ourselves, are we living or are we just simply existing?

I know we all want to believe that we are truly living, but that's not always the case. I'm sure most of us are guilty of this, and I know I am, but this could be your time to change. This could be your time to focus on living instead of just existing.

This can definitely be difficult as a college student because for the most part we are constantly stressed out about exams, homework, and quizzes. But, in the end it's always good to take time for yourself and do what you want. Go out with your friends, travel somewhere new, or do something you've always wanted to do. The best decisions are the spontaneous ones. It does sound super cheesy, but doing things for yourself is extremely important. You'll learn, grow, and even become the best version of yourself. Living is way more important than just existing.

Take a step back and think about what you haven't done in your life that you wish you had. Time is flying and everyone should reevaluate their lives and do something for themselves. Do something you have always wanted and be adventurous. We can't be carried away by the little things anymore. Education is obviously extremely important, but being who you are is always extremely important. Taking time off to self reflect is what makes you a more postiive person. The best memories in life are with our best friends doing what we want to do. It's doubtful any of us will remember sitting in our 3 hour lecture class, but we will remember that one night we went out with our best friends and laughed until we cried.

The point is to make time for yourself. Instead of simply existing, you should live. Live by doing what you want at great places with even better people.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
