I am a people pleaser. I don't like to let other people down. To me, this always seemed like a good attribute to have. Until suddenly it didn't anymore. I think it took being on my own in college to realize this. Almost done with my freshman year of college, I look back and this is by far the biggest lesson I have learned:
“In the end, only three things matter: how much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you.”
When you make your choices based off of what you think other people expect you to be and what others expect from you, you are no longer living for yourself. You begin to live for other people. You begin to become someone not meant for you. When you are not yourself, you attract things and people that are not meant for you. When you are your most genuine self, what is meant for you will come in due time. When you are the truest version of yourself, you attract the people that are meant for you. And you are able to love those people fully. When you are the truest version of yourself, you attract the things and opportunities that are meant for you. And you are able to take part in those things fully.
“Being FEARLESS isn't being 100% Not FEARFUL, it's being terrified but you jump anyway...”
I think it starts with little changes. I came into school with a major that I had absolutely no interest in, but I knew I could get a job with. I made the choice to change this. Attending workshops and listening to leaders has helped me form a better idea of what I want to do and who I want to be. If you put in the extra step to do things like this, it can go a long way.
If you spend each day doing things that YOU love for YOU, then I believe you will be lead down the path to the person you are meant to be. All of this begins with you. Live fearlessly for you.
