Living By The Bible

Sometimes, we need a little encouragement

I'm not a religious person whatsoever... (trust me, ask anyone who knows me). I haven't been to church in almost 2 years, not counting weddings, baptisms or funerals. I am not the perfect "child of God". But recently, I've been feeling alone. Things have been stressful and I've been questioning everything that happens in my life: love, strength, guidance. Who do I talk to when questioning these sort of things in life? Lately, I've been looking up bible versus and they're pretty outspoken and actually quite helpful. I've had questions about how to live and bible quotes help me so much. My article today is some of my favorite bible versus to get through your day.

Love:

"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love" -1 Corinthians 13:13

Strength:

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. -Jeremiah 29:11

Guidance:

"For you are my rock and my fortress; For Your name's sake you will lead me and guide me" -Psalm 31:3

Hope:

"Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life" -Proverbs 13:12

Sadness:

The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. -Deuteronomy 31:8

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
