Living And Breathing Through Words

Words are a gift. But they can also be deadly.

There isn’t a synonym for "word" but if there was, it wouldn’t be as powerful.

It’s incredible to comprehend the power one, single, word possesses. One word can heal a broken wound and one word can burn the scar even more deeply.

Listening to the words in a song brings a flush of memories and the words concocted in a poem written by a loved one leaves us feeling all warm-and-fuzzy.

Words can create revolutionary movements and words can end wars.

Even though words fail to capture our sentiments at times, our last resort is the string of letters to communicate our thoughts and emotions.

Words can bring tears.

Words can generate laughter.

Words can create silence.

Words can trigger memories.

Words can make us smile.

Words can induce pain.

Positive affirmations are a great way to start the day because of the ability of words to shed light on our behavior and perception of the world around us.

Words are held hostage in a book until it’s open and each and every single word springs upon us, transporting us to a parallel universe. They open new networks of connections in our brain.

Words are a gift. But they can also be deadly. The power of words lies with the master.

Words portray our emotions and shape our daily lives. Each word that projects from our mouths creates an impact in the world, big or small.

We live and breathe through words.

“There is something about words. In expert hands, manipulated deftly, they take you prisoner. Wind themselves around your limbs like spider silk, and when you are so enthralled you cannot move, they pierce your skin, enter your blood, numb your thoughts. Inside you they work magic.”

Diane Setterfield captures the essence of words. Words expressed eloquently can spark imagination beyond the sky and words used carelessly can tarnish one’s reputation.

Choose your words wisely.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
