Why You Should Always Live With Your Best Friends

If the opportunity comes up, do not let it go.

Living with your best friends is an amazing opportunity. One that you will probably not get the chance to do again so take advantage of it while you can.

I live in a house in Lexington that is right off of campus. It's kind of reminds me of the dogs that everyone refers to as "ugly cute". When you first see it, it is hideous, but if you squint your eyes until they are closed it is kind of cute, in a way.

While my house may not be the best on the outside, it is the inside of the house that makes it so special. And by the inside I am not referring to the interior architecture, that's not any better from the outside, I am talking about the amazing girls that live in my house.

I live with seven of the most amazing girls I have ever met and I am not sure how I could do college without them.

Their names are Molly, Jane, Carly, Maddie, Heather, Hannah, and Taylor.

They allow my life to constantly be filled with energy, crazy stories and lots and lots of laughter. While we all get along well, the one thing that makes our friendship work so well is how different we all are.

Molly is a broadcast journalism major and she is the stylist of the house, she has her own fashion blog, wants to be a sports broadcaster one day. She loves to take photos and videos and is our social media queen.

Janie is the hard-worker. I have never met someone who can do so many things in one day. From working two jobs to studying at the library she is constantly on the go and makes it look easy.

Carly is the laid back one of the house. Coming from someone who is always uptight and stressing, I envy her. She seems to always be able to find a way to make things seem okay.

Maddie is the confident one. It does not matter what life throws at her she always comes out on top and is rarely flustered by the issues she faces.

Heather is the carefree one. If I could trade traits with anyone in the house I think it would be her. I am the anxious one in the house and Heather is always level headed and optimistic.

Hannah is the spontaneous one. She is always down for an adventure, whether it is to another state or just to see if the ice cream machine at McDonald's is working you can always count her in to join you.

And lastly there's Taylor, or T, she is the mature one of the house. The one who has her life together. Somehow she is able to balance academics and a social life flawlessly.

Living with your best friends has its own problems but they are nothing when compared to the fact that the person asleep in the bed next to yours will be there for you no matter what.

Having so many different personalities in a house could cause chaos but for us, it is a perfect mix.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
