As you scroll through your social media, like any other normal Tuesday, you come across some good news. Your favorite musician decided to post tour dates and you instantly click on the banner. With anticipation you scroll down the list hoping that you see a city near you. So, just as the stars aligned you spot the city you were looking for and you look straight at the date. Next on that list is making sure you don't have any important activity for that date. And you don't. Afterwards you check what day tickets go on sale and how much they are. So now you don't want to experience this alone so you message all your friends to ask who wants to go with you. But, that's where it starts to get tough because this particular musician is costing a good amount of money to go see, and tickets go on sale Friday. Many people pass up seeing their favorite musician because of money, and I can totally understand the difficulty with the situation. But, there are so many ways to look at it. Trust me you will get your money's worth out of it.

Personally, I love live music. There is no better feeling than hearing the voice of the musician you have been listening to forever and the audience mouthing the words right back to their songs. It almost feels surreal to be able to be in a place with the people you respect the most.

It's not just thrilling for us, but for the musician too. Yes they are human beings and yes they are real. They love to put their energy into their passion, this is what they have been working for. They want you to dance your heart out, and move to the rhythm of their instruments. Regardless of the size of the venue each musician caters to their audience, they are going to make sure you are enjoying your time and involve you as much as possible.

You are paying for a memory and that is worth more than anything. Concerts are one of those experiences where you pause and you really have to take it all in. This is good vibes, this is your favorite music, this is your life.

This year one of my personal goals is to pay for experiences and breath taking moments over materialistic items. Concerts are on top of that list. I have learned a few things about myself and the person I want to be. I can pay to make myself look better although I already own more than enough things. Or I can pay for experiences that will make me feel rushes of emotions.

When I am at a show, my excitement starts to build up. I am my happiest when I can listen to that song that touched my heart being sang by the musician. But it’s not just me, this is a collective activity. Suddenly I am flooded with melodies and the vibrations of sound. For those few hours your mind and heart are given to who you are listening to. It’s true music can save people, and it can make you believe in the beauty of art. To be able to experience all of this in a couple of hours, I don’t know what more you can want.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
