Each of us knows "The Planner." Whether it is you, your mother, your best friend, your brother, or your teacher, I am sure you know exactly what I am talking about.
The planner is the person who is never late, has their day planned out by the minute, and is usually not seen sitting or relaxed. If you are in college I'm sure you have the planner friend. The one you ask to hang out with and she have to plan three weeks in advance because she is way too involved.
The planner never misses a deadline in school and has their planner that they use color coded. The planner feels a sense of relief everytime she crosses off something in her planner. Everyone strives to be like the planner because she seems on top of her school work, work, extracurriculars, and everything in between at all times.
However, the planner has flaws that most people do not know about. The reason that the planner joins a large number of clubs, volunteers each week, and does not give themselves a chance to ever rest is because the planner gets anxious when she has nothing to do. The planner puts her self-worth in her accomplishments and grades so she continues to make good grades and build her resume to feel good about herself.
If you are the planner you are more than your resume, grades, and extracurriculars. There is much more to life than planning every moment.
Even if you don't plan every moment, I think each person gets wrapped up in a little bit of planning. Everyone needs a little bit more spontaneity in their lives to make more worthwhile.
