Live Life To The Fullest

Don't Take Life Too Seriously
Meag Fitz

Eat that piece of cake, don’t stress about that B-, look up from your phone once and a while, spend time with your family and go to that basketball game with your friends.

Yes your weight, grades, and checking social media are important but if you take a step back and think about it we should ask the question why. Why is being super skinny or getting an A+ in every class so important. Why do we need to check our Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, FaceBook, Tumblr and emails every 5 seconds? Because society says it is important, but you know what is really important, happiness, spending time with your friends and family, and helping others.

I am all for staying in shape, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you have to be super thin, you should be whatever size makes you happy, don’t worry what other people think. And about grades in school, of course I would love to get an A+ in every class, but that is just unrealistic because we have others things going on in our life. We are involved in activities, clubs, sports, and just hanging out with friends and family. I would rather take that B or A- in a class and be able to enjoy life at the same time. Study hard but do not bury yourself in your work 24/7 so that you do not have time for your family and friends because in the grand scheme of things no one is going to remember if you got 100 on that last quiz, but they will remember the moments spent together and the memories made either going to that sporting event or volunteering together. Work hard, Be happy and live life to the fullest

“Love your family. Spend time, be kind & serve one another. Make no room for regrets. Tomorrow is not promised & today is short.”

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…

If you go to or went to Kent State, then more than likely you have done or will do some of these things.

1. You’ve slipped and fallen on the ice at least once.
