The weekend of January 13 to 15, my mom and I traveled down to the historic Christmas city of Bethlehem, PA. We had reservations at the Sands Casino Hotel to stay there for the weekend and go shopping. I had one other thing up my sleeve that my mom already knew about. We were going to be sitting second row and had VIP passes to go see Dancing With The Stars Live! Tour.

I had so much excitement and nerves that while week into the weekend. I just wanted that week to go by super fast so that Friday we could head out. We left Friday morning and went for lunch and then we went shopping around downtown Bethlehem. After we spent a few hours shopping, we went to the hotel and checked in. I didn’t really know how much the hotel was going to be for two nights. When I found out, I almost passed out. The price was totally worth it though. We were on the fifth floor and had a huge room with two queen beds, a flat screen tv, a huge bathroom with a walk in shower. The only downfall was that we had a beautiful view of the roof.

Friday night, we went shopping at the outlets and got dinner. We then went back to the room, got ready for bed, and fell asleep. The next day was the best day of my life. We got up in the morning and went for breakfast and then went shopping for a little while until we had lunch. After lunch, we started to get ready for the show. We did our makeup and hair and got into our amazingly gorgeous dresses that we had bought. Tonight was going to be an amazing night.

Since we had VIP, we had a meet and greet and a meet and mingle party with select members of the cast. We also had the opportunity to buy merchandise before anybody else and got free sodas at the bar. Finally, after waiting for about an hour and a half, it was time to meet the cast. I had never met anybody famous before so I had no clue on what to do. My mom and I went in and we met Sharna Burgess, Laurie Hernandez, Val Chmerkovskiy, and Gleb Savchenko. It was amazing to meet them. Then after our pictures, we were able to meet Hayley Erbert and Alan Bersten. Then it was time for the show.

The show was amazing! Being second row we saw everything. From facial expressions to being spotted in the audience by the cast to catching streamers at the end of show. After the show ended and we went back to the room, I was having such bad withdrawal of them. I cannot wait for the day that I can meet them again. Here’s to a great 2017 and a chance to meet them again.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
