I think this film is worth seeing. From all the mob movies that have come out, this one seemed to grasp the concept the best from the ones I have seen. By the end of this film I fully enjoyed what I had seen. With that said, there were too many discrepancies in the beginning that led to questions that were never fully answered. I think every actor in this film had an accent other than Ben Affleck. I'm not sure if that was intentional but it was highly noticeable that his father was Irish and everyone had some sort of accent but him. On top of that, the female wardrobe was completely modernized while the male wardrobe embodied the time period and location. Although the wardrobe was very pleasing to look at, it did not suit the style of the film.
Like in all movies, you anticipate that people will die or at least be beat up. With that in mind, the violence shown in this film was borderline unnecessary. I think it showcased how these people dealt with problems but it was a bit much.
One part of the movie that I thought was done very well would be the "sex scene" between Ben Affleck and Zoe Saldana. The musical score that backed the scene reached the audience to show that it was more that just sex for the two characters. I also highly enjoyed Elle Fanning's performance. She commanded her part and showed that she could hold her own when surrounded by actors who have been on the big screen since before she was born.
