Whether you're eighteen or eighty, there are some things in life that will always bring you happiness. The time of day, the mood you're in, or what you're doing doesn't matter, some things will always bring pure joy. Everyone always looks forward to the big things in life. Vacations, concerts, professional sporting events, all bring happiness, but there's something about the little things in life that can't be replaced. It is important to stop and enjoy the little things because they add up to be the big things.

Hearing your old favorite song. One of the most enjoyable moments in life is driving down the road and one of your old favorites comes on the radio. You and your friends start singing at the top of your lungs, roll the windows down, and let the wind blow through your hair.

When you're broke, any money you can find is a huge deal. The best is when you find it in old cards or in one of your pockets. Receiving a free item is always a day brightener, too. Whether it's a reward for doing something good or out of the kindness of stranger, a free item will always make your day.

A cool night, your favorite sweatshirt, and a bonfire create a perfect fall night. Add in some s'mores, music, and the people you love and you'll have a moment to remember forever. There's nothing like spending all of fall bonding with friends and family over a s'more or two.

It's always fun to go through old pictures and look at all of your past memories. This wholesome activity tends to always lead to many smiles and laughs. When you have albums upon albums of pictures, you can spend hours reminiscing with the ones you love.

After a long cold winter, it's always refreshing to go outside to get a nice breath of fresh air. You can take a walk with a friend, or your dog, and be sure to stop and smell the roses. The fresh air clears the mind and cleanses the soul. It's a breath of new beginnings for the seasons ahead.

Life is full of little and big moments and it is important to enjoy them all. Slowing down throughout the day to take a second to soak in each and every blessings is fulfilling. You'll realize how lucky you are to live the life you have and develop a new gratitude and appreciation for the little things. When you look back on life, you'll remember the big things in life, but only the little day-to-day pieces make life worth living.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
