Little Things People Tend to Forget

1. Actions Speak Louder Than Words

You can say you care and ramble on about how much someone means to you, but the only way for them to know you actually care is through your actions. When you really care about someone these actions shouldn't have to be forced or seen as a hassle. You should put the effort in because all you want to do is see that person smile and be happy. This is so crucial in all relationships not just to keep the other person happy but to remind them that they're special to you and that you're thinking of them.

2. You Can’t Take Anything For Granted

When things become routine it’s easy to get comfortable and start assuming nothing will ever change. Although, in that very moment is when change is most likely to occur. When people get comfortable they begin not putting as much effort in and taking things/people in for granted. Life is unpredictable and you never know when you something could be taken for you. That’s why its important to enjoy the things you have and make the most of everyday with all the blessings you have in your life.

3. Live In The Moment

While it’s good to plan the future, life changes and obstacles appear unexpectedly. The only thing you're promised is the very moment you're in. Embrace it, enjoy it, make the most of it. Life is what you make it, so make it the best it can be.

4. Don’t Look Back With Regrets

People make mistakes and life isn't perfect but that’s what makes it beautiful. Imperfection allows for improvement which keeps life progressing. For that very reason, we cant dwell on small mistakes or misjudgments that led to a bad choice. We can’t move forward if we keep looking back on things that we can no longer change. Don’t regret anything because in that moment, when you made that decision, it was something that you chose and that you wanted. In the future if you look back wishing you made a different decision, you should take those feelings and use them to make a wiser decision in the future. But dealing with uneasy feelings of regret is an unnecessary strain over something that can’t be changed or taken back.

5. Life Goes On

Everyone goes through ups and downs in their life. When life seems tough or unmanageable you always have to remember that life goes on and with every down just secures room for things to get better. Pick your head up and stay strong, for life goes on and it can always get better.

6. Everyone Is Special In Their Own Way

People always find things to be self conscious about. It’s very easy for someone to find something they don't like about themselves when they're constantly comparing themselves to others. Don’t get down on yourself when you find your imperfections because while you see someone who is better at something than you are, theirs something else that your better at than that person. Every person is different but that’s what makes each individual special in their own way. So don’t harp on your flaws but emphasize your uniqueness.

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
