It’s that time of year again, and no, I’m not talking about football season. Big/Little Reveal is right around the corner and it is arguably one of the best experiences a girl can have in her time with her sorority. I can’t believe one short year ago I was anxiously trying to figure who my big was, and now I’m about to be a big myself! I’m taking my role of being a big very seriously, and with that mindset, I’ve came up with some promises to my little that I think reflect the kind of big I want to be. So, to my little (who doesn’t know that I’m her big… yet!), here are the promises I’m making to you:
I promise to make you the cutest canvases, snag the cutest t-shirts, and buy all of your favorites for big/little week. You’re my little, and you deserve the best, so that’s what you’re going to get!
I promise to welcome you with open arms into the coolest fam in our sisterhood. We live for each other and we’d die for each other, and don’t think for a second we wouldn’t do the same for you!
I promise to be there when times are tough. College is hard, life is hard, and we all have those down-in-the-dumps kind of days. Know that you always have me to lean on when you can’t stand on your own.
I promise to be there when times are great. College is fun, life is fun, but all of that is even more fun when you have someone to share it with. I can’t wait to share the exciting times in my life with you, as I hope you’ll do with me.
I promise to teach you how to be the best sister you can be. Songs, rules, and rituals can be a little overwhelming at first, but I’ll be there to guide you through it all, step by step. (Just don’t make fun of my singing voice!)
I promise to be your go-to dance partner. Even when no one else is on the dance floor, or everyone is staring because my dance moves are so bad.
I promise to be honest with you. Whether it’s about your outfit or the guy you’re crushing on, I’ll give you the most honest advice I can on it all.
I promise to be your Big: your partner in crime, your best friend. Someone you can always turn to no matter what. I can’t promise that I’ll be perfect, but I can promise that I’ll try to be.
I love you lots already, little, and I can’t wait for all of the great times to come!
