My Little, My Little

My Little,

I have been waiting since senior year of high school to meet you. I did not know who you were at the time, I just knew I wanted a little and that she had to be perfect. Well, here we are two years later and my little goals are #achieved. You are the most perfect, cutest, light of my life and I cannot wait to call you mine.

From the second I met you on bid day, I was hooked and I just had to have you. I made sure none of my friends wanted you and that they kept other possible bigs away. If you don't believe me just ask any of my friends, because they had to listen to me obsess over you for weeks. They reassured me I was worth your perfection when I questioned if you would love me enough. Every time we hung out and talked, I fell more and more in love with you.

I cannot wait to call you mine and show the world via Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat how cute and precious you are. The minute I knew you were "The One", I called my mom and told her all about you. I even managed to convince my sister to love you; and trust me she was not to fond of me having a new little sister. My family cannot wait to meet the little who has stolen my heart.

The endless hours i have spent crafting is worth it because you deserve the world my little. All the other little's are going to be envious of your rocken baskets and poppin' canvases. We are going to be the best big/lil pair that the world (and TSM) has ever seen.

I cannot wait to share this year with you and to post every memorable moment on Snapchat. I may even take up scrap-booking so that we will never forget our perfect memories and journey through college together. I cannot wait to bond with you, cook you dinner, go on fro yo dates, frat lap with you, get ready for social events with you, have sleepovers with you and many many more things. I am literally getting so giddy just thinking about it right now.

I will take care of you, making sure you do not get in any trouble or into any bad situations. I will teach you all the ins and outs of being a classy sorority girl. You will know how to spot a tool a mile away and to steer clear of the "Netflix and chill" type of guy. No matter what is going on, I will always be there for you. You will always have a shoulder to cry on, a person to hug and friend to laugh with.

I expect you to run into my arms and never let go with joyful tears in your eyes; and it be Instagram worthy. Trust me, I will probably be a little emotional myself, so you might as well just cry so isn't awkward. Don't mind all the flash photography capturing our reveal; it's just a thing.

'Till reveal little bit, I love you and cannot wait to officially call you mine.

Love,

Your Big

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
