I'm a firm believer in that everyone has something that sparks their interest or, "lights a fire inside of them". Whether this be a passion, person, or hobby, it brings so much joy to that person's life they can't help but smile. I think it's so important that everyone finds this fire inside and let it drive them for a successful life.
We spend 17+ years in school (if you include college), and are working and studying to have this perfect, stable job when we're older. We work now to create a life for ourselves in the future. Sometimes we work so hard that by the time we actually get to the future, we're burned out. We've pushed ourselves to the breaking point and don't enjoy what we're doing anymore. This could mean we settle with a safe job that isn't something that excites us or brings joy to our lives, or it could mean that we just had a total change in heart and even though we have a great job and are advancing rank and making a ton of money, we just aren't happy.
I used to be scared of this. I used to think I'd pushed myself so hard for good grades and going the extra mile in school and with internships that I wasn't even going to like what I'd be doing in the future. I'm not scared anymore. I've found my outlets that bring so much happiness and joy in my life, and I don't mind if I have a tough day at school or if my future doesn't seem like it's ending up where I thought it would go, because I know I can write or workout and I will forget everything that's on my plate at this point and time.
My personal outlets are working out and writing. I can sweat out the stress, and/or let my feelings flow on paper. I never have to carry those burdens with me onto the next day because I have ways to let them go. I think it's so important for everyone to do something they really love and enjoy doing so that life doesn't seem so tough everyday. You don't just want to be alive, you want to live your life, and you can't do that unhappily. Find what lights your fire and do it whole-heartedly every single day!
