A Little Letter For My Best Friends
"There comes a point in your life when you realize who really matters, who never did, and who always will"
-Unknown

We all have friends in our lives, but who are those that we turn to for absolutely anything? Our best friends. These people in our lives, stand by us, watch us cry, always have our backs, pout with us, do everything together, spend a week straight with us and not even get sick of us. Those people are your best friends. Sometimes in life we are lucky just to get one, but I have a few in my life.

This is to my best friends-

Thank you for the countless times you have supported me, and came to any concert (even if you didn't want to). Thank you for always being there for me. The countless times that I have called you to come over at 3 a.m., or every time I called you two hours away, and needing your advice. The little petty arguments that never got in the way of our friendship. Thank you for all you have done for me. I could not be the person I am without you. I know if I don't speak to you in 10 years and I see you again it will be just like we left off. (I hope that doesn't happen though). Also thank you for the unlimited Starbucks trips and movies we watch.

The reason I wanted to write this is because I have friends in my life that I could not imagine my life without. I am sure they know how much they truly mean to me, but sometimes I think we forget to tell them. Having a friend in your life is always going to make a huge impact, my favorite part of my best friends is I can send them a picture of myself asking if this looks good, or get advice from them no matter how far apart we are. Having best friends is a good thing, and eventually they just turn into family.

Four reasons you can tell you have a Best Friend:

1. They always have your back.

One of the main qualities to have in a good friend is making sure that they always have your back. I think it's safe to say that it sucks when people aren't always nice, and even when that happens you have your girls to rely on. Also when your friends have your best interest, you know their real friends.

2. They LOVE talking about "Boy Problems" with you.

Always have friends who are willing to talk about boys with you, that's one of the fun parts. Also when the boys don't work out, they will always be there. Haven't you heard the saying... (girls) before Bros. Yeah.. there's a reason for that. Your girls should always come first because most of the time, they stick around the longest.

3. They become your Soul Sister.

I think one of my favorite things about my best friends, is that we always know what the other is thinking. We always finish one another's sentences. Also it is okay to match your clothes..because you are soul sisters. They eventually become those people you talk to every single day or if you are lucky you see them every day.

4. It doesn't matter how long you knew them.

I think it's funny when people say "oh you only knew them (blank) this amount of time, how can they be your best friend?" It does not matter how long you knew them, if they are always there for you, go on adventures with you, and they always have your best interest. Those are things that best friends do. Those are the people you keep around you.

Having people like this in your life does make a bigger impact, you have people by your side even if they're hours away. The photos above are pictures of me and my best friends, and I don't see them everyday but I always talk to them and if we don't talk for awhile its just like we left off. All of these people have been there for me more times that I an count and their endless love is what keeps me going. People that are good, and make your life better are the people who you surround yourself with. Thank you for all you do, all you have done, and all that you will do. You guys are truly an inspiration, and I am so thankful that you are in my life. I wrote this because it is important that you thank your best friends, and let them know you appreciate them, even thought they probably already know. So Thank you, Ashley, Lindsey, Katlin, Alex, and Jentry.

Now go thank your best friends.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
