Taking A Leap Of Faith

Taking a chance is better than spending all your time wondering what could've been.

Stability.

We all strive for it. We want to feel safe and secure, and this is often led back to stability. I mean...who doesn't want to feel comfortable where they are? No one. But...we might have to consider the fact that stability may be holding us back a little bit.

To the person working the same job since they were in high school, this is for you. To the person who's in a toxic relationship, this is for you. To the person who can't seem to take that big step, this is for you. This is essentially for everyone who feels like they need to make a change in their lives but just needs a push to do so.

Before going into depth on my thoughts on this...I think it's important to address the fact that I haven't mastered this skill either. Here I am, telling people how to make large changes in their life, and I can't even do it myself. I am comfortable in my bubble of stability. Thinking outside of the bubble makes me squeamish. However, I think a small part of all of us feels this way.

You see, nothing in life should ever hold you back. If you're working a job that you don't enjoy, and you know you can go do better, go do it. No one, and I mean no one, is stopping you except yourself. You have to do the things that are right for you. If you are ever doing something and questioning whether or not you should be doing it, you need to get out. Immediately. Run as fast as you can. When you're doing the right thing, you won't feel the need to question it. Everything will just feel like it's in place. This is a hard thing to grasp because sometimes it feels like there is too much change. Some people change jobs 100 times before they realize what they should really be doing.

If you are majoring in something that doesn't quite suit you, get out of it. Life is way too short to be learning about things that don't interest you. Believe me when I say you'll spend your entire life regretting it.

There should be nothing stopping you from doing exactly what you want to do. I know that this is hard and that there can be obstacles, but nothing in this world is impossible. The people in your life should (and hopefully will) push you to do the things that you dream of doing. They should back you up in all aspects of your life. You should never feel afraid to do something because you're afraid you'll lose people. The people who are meant to be in your life will still be there when you're done chasing your dreams.

College is filled with many things, and we're so often lectured to make the right decisions as we head out on our own into the college life.
