Why Little Brothers Are Simply The Best

You can always count on me.

Little brothers…boy can they be annoying.

My little brother will run into the house holding a dead squirrel in my face, he will burp as loud as he can on purpose in front of me, he will leave my car a complete wreck, and he might even say some extremely embarrassing things about me to my boyfriend.

My patience is tested on a daily basis by having a little brother, but he’s just so darn cute that I can’t stay mad for too long.

You see, he may annoy me and drive me crazy, but as we get older I’m starting to see that at the end of the day I know he will always be on my team, he will always be on my side until the end, and encourage me to be the best version of myself that I can be.

My brother and I have a six-year age gap, and I love getting to watch him grow. He’s grown from that little snaggle tooth boy hitting off a baseball tee, to a teenager who won’t even let me wave to him in the car line anymore.

There is so many times when I’ve been too bossy, I’ve tried to talk to him like I’m his mom, and I’ve had a bad attitude to him for no reason at all.

We have most definitely had our ups and downs but, I love coming home and seeing his smiling face, hearing about his day at school, listening to the latest middle school drama (goodness has it changed since I was 13!), and watching him be a ball boy next to my daddy on football Friday nights.

My brother may think that I don’t care, and that I’m always just trying to get him in trouble, but I hope he knows that he will be my best friend forever. I don’t care where the wind blows him, I will be there supporting him every step of the way.

I am so proud of the heart he has. I love watching him grow and turn into the precious young man that he is becoming.

Next time your little brother drives you up the wall, take a deep breath and remind yourself of how much he looks up to you and relies on you, how much he loves you, and how important it is that we older siblings set a good example.

So, to the halloween baby boy that broke my six year only child streak, I hope that you know how loved you are and that you can always count on me.

The Battle Between College And My Mental Health

College isn't easy, and I'm afraid I'm not going to make it at the rate my mental health is going.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?

For the average 20-something, life moves pretty fast. You’ve got classes, friends, relationships, jobs, family, and whatever else we overcommit ourselves with. I probably should have learned to say no to adding more to my schedule a long time ago, but instead here are 11 things that can be more helpful than coffee.

Resting b***h face. Defined as a person, usually a girl, who naturally looks mean when her face is expressionless, without meaning to. Many of you suffer from this "condition." You are commonly asked what's wrong, when nothing is. What people don't know is that is just your facial expression. Here are some things they wish you knew.
