I have to say, it's pretty nostalgic seeing your little siblings getting accepted and denied to universities. A process I went through. My little brother is a senior at Jericho Senior High School on Long Island. For starters, whichever college he does end up at, he will succeed to his highest abilities because my little brother, Sam, is one of the most intelligent people I know. With his determination and his confidence, he will go very far places in life and I have never been a prouder sister.

As April approaches rapidly, my brother will be committing to a certain college. As it is a very exciting process, it's also extremely nerve-wracking. It's crazy how much an acceptance letter can do to the next four years of your life, and possibly for the far end future. Although we want to be accepted to every university we apply to, so does every person in the universe applying to colleges. Thus, we have some tough competition.

My little brother, Sam, is a genius.

Whether he gets accepted to every single university, or he gets denied from the ones he worked so hard to obtain, wherever he ends up, I know he will make the best out of it and attain full happiness. He is the kind of kid to turn every bad situation into a good one.

As of now, he wants to go pre-med, an extremely difficult road to cross. Being that he's such a bright, young man, he can easily secure this. Currently, he is waiting to hear back from a few colleges, such as Lehigh and Cornell, both elite and complex schools. I do believe that if he gets in, it's meant to be and if not, it isn't meant to be.

Coming from a girl who went through this entire process already, it's exhausting and causes a somewhat very eager feeling, but very worth it. Your friends will hear back and commit to a college, but you have yet to be accepted is such a horrible feeling. All you can do now is ride with it, relax, and wait.

The real truth is that you get whatever it is that you're focusing on in life. It is very hard to move away from negative thoughts, however, once you do, you will only see the light. Everything comes in time to those who wait. Although you most likely feel nothing but impatience, try your best to be patient. Things come at certain times for a reason.

I believe that good things come to those who work. My brother is smart. However, without self-discipline, there isn't much of a future. This discipline will result in one's full potential that he or she so much deserves.

My baby brother, I am so excited for what college has in store for you. I know you will accomplish whatever you put your mind to. So, sit back, relax, and trust the process.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
