We all know there is a huge debate right now on tightening up gun laws. Whether or not we should blame the shooter or the gun? Whether or not we should blame the president or the parenting?

This is my opinion on why guns are not the problem.

1. Mental illnesses

Although, I suffer from a mental illness and I do not really want to blame it on this the kid Cruz from the recent shootings in Florida had a mental illness. He suffered from depression, but seemed to take it well, according to the family that took him in.

Not everyone who has a mental illness wants to get help or will get help. There are some people who suffer from mental illnesses and they do not even know it. There are people who you would never know something was wrong with them unless they told you.

2. Parenting

This family took Cruz in after their son asked them to because his mother recently passed away. It was nice that they took him in, but they supposedly never heard of all these terrible things that everyone else heard of Cruz.

The FBI was notified about Cruz. How can you have this kid living at your house, but not know this? Why would your own son not tell you these things since this kid was living with you.

Cruz was expelled several times too. There needs to be consequences. I believe Cruz’ biological family just let him do whatever he wanted and maybe he grew up in a bad home, but that I am not positive about.

3. Bullies

Just from what I have read on Facebook kids in high school and younger and even adults saying that Cruz is ugly and look at him. What if kids were doing this in school? This could be a reason why Cruz decided to do what he did.

Bullying has become a huge problem in the United States and not just in schools, but at the work place too. Who knows what kids and adults were saying to this kid.

4. Fame

Social media and the media in general publicize the shit out of events like this. People want to be famous and some people do not care how they become famous.

5. Lack of prayer in schools

There is no God in schools anymore. People do not even stand for the Pledge at major football games at this point. Maybe if the students all prayed together everyday things would be different.

6. Freedom

I love having freedom, but at the same time freedom lets us carry guns. The guy who took Cruz in is a veteran and owned his own guns. Cruz could have gotten a gun no matter what.

All in all, I do not think the gun is the problem. Does a fork make you fat? Does a lighter cause the fire? Does a knife cause the stabbing?

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.
