I can't decide which was more traumatic: This year's election, or the season premier of The Walking Dead. This week has been incredibly stressful and surprising. Donald Trump won the Presidential Election, leading to much disappointment and frustration around the country. What surprises me the most is that non-Trump supporters are attacking Trump supporters. Am I particularly happy that Donald Trump is president? No. But, I am shocked that people are being attacked for what they believe in. Don't we have a right to freedom of speech and belief? Since when is it okay to shame people for their beliefs? This election has been tough and frustrating. So, I've come up with a list of things that have made me smile this week.

1. It's almost Thanksgiving!

We can al be thankful this election is over and we survived it!

2. The holiday season is coming up!

Get ready for Freeform's "The 25 Days of Christmas," snow, holiday music, and people decorating their homes for the holidays!

3. The holidays coming up also means Starbucks is unveiling their holiday red cups!

This might not make the Dunkin Donuts enthusiast smile, but for a Starbucks nut like myself, it certainly made me happy.

4. J.K. Rowling is blessing us with the prequel to the Harry Potter franchise.

The film " Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" will be hitting theaters on November 18.

5. For all Disney lovers, a live-action Beauty and the Beast film is in the works starring Emma Watson.

Images of scenes from the film are being released, making people super excited for when the film comes out.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
