Although romantic poetry isn't just for guys to give to girls, here is a short list of romantic -or not as much- poems I compiled off the top of my head based on words and colors emulating the "Roses are Red, Violets are Blue" format.

1.

Flowers are yellow, Flowers are green

And some flowers are red

And my girl is so beautiful I can't get her out of my head.

2.

The grass is green

Sun is Hot, and Clouds are White.

If you were my Queen,

I'd be your White Knight.

3.

Flowers are green,

Chicken and Steak.

You're the hottest mistake

I've ever seen.

4.

Roses are red,

Violets are Blue.

I don't always write poems,

But when I do its for you.

5.

The world is round;

Flowers are red, white, and pink.

I think of you everyday

I can't get the sound of your voice out of my mind

6.

My life was Black and White

until you brightened my world.

Now my life has grays,

Colors, bright and vibrant.

My world was flat,

until you walked on it.

Roses are red, grass is green.

I think of you, every hour of the day

and every day of the year.

Girl I love the sound of your

beautiful voice in my ear.

The sun is hot, the clouds, white.

I can't get you off my mind;

Because of you

My world's round and bright.

Since I've met you, you're the only one

I want to be with every night.

7.

Roses are red,

the grass seems greenish.

Hot dogs, fish sticks, and steak

are of the meats.

Whenever I'm with you

My heart beats fast from my

head to my toes.

8.

Reds, pinks, purples, teals,

there's too many flowers everywhere

but there's only one of you,

and none are as beautiful as you.

Babe you're one of a kind,

making me fall head over heals,

making me want to make you mine.

9.

Hot as the sun,

Beautiful as a rose,

you're so cute

from the sparkle in your eyes

to the unrivaled art on your toes.

Babe you're so beautiful I know

everyone knows

I've got the feels for you.

10.

Roses are red,

Violets are Blue,

Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, KFC

All I can think about is

you, me, fine dining,

and watch movies in my bed.

11.

Violets are blue,

Spongebob is ready

Baby here's a ring,

lets go steady.

12.

The sky is blue, the clouds are white.

Sunflowers, roses, daisies;

Give me a vase and water.

Baby, you're my precious flower, you're my princess.

Cookies, ice cream, lots of pie,

pick me, I'm your guy

I love you, do you love me? I'll be your white knight.

No? Yes? No maybes.

13.

Roses are red,

Pollen makes me sneeze.

Whenever I'm with you,

I get weak in the knees.

14.

Roses are red,

Violets are blue.

Beautiful woman, please date me;

you're always on my mind,

and I've already fallen for you.

15.

Apples are sour,

Peaches are sweet.

But she's the only one I wanna meet.

Haven't met her yet but I will;

I will wait every minute, every second;

I'd spend every hour on her.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
