2017 is here, and the spring semester is underway. Now that I'm back on campus there are so many things that I want to do in these next few months. Here is my "bucket list" for the semester.
Go to more school events.
Last semester I went to very few school sponsored events. But my friends and I decided that we want to be more active on campus this semester. The events are usually either "free" (if you don't count all that you pay to go to the university and those additional fees) or inexpensive- which is awesome for starving college students! This includes everything between dressing up for trivia nights, going downtown for events, and other on-campus events that involve food and a fun time to hang out with our friends.
Find new places in the community.
From farm-to-table restaurants, bakeries, markets, and local shops, I want to find more places in my school community. I love being able to call a new town my own even if it just for four years.
Travel more with my friends.
Sometimes I get in a rut with my weekend plans. This next semester I want to make time to get away with my closest friends. From road trips to the mountains, trips home to see our families and the towns we grew up in (basically hometown dates, but with each other), and weekend getaways to cities we've been dying to see based on our favorite movies and TV shows.
I want to just be a college student.
By this, I don't just mean take classes and live in a dorm, I want to fully enjoy this semester. From late night Cookout runs, making up random songs while walking around campus with my friends, study break dance parties in the room, and singing way too loud when driving around campus. I want to enjoy this semester and be thankful that I am not an official adult.
Jim Elliot once wrote,
"Wherever you are, be all there! Live to the hilt every situation you believe to be the will of God."
This semester, I want to be all there.
