Among the many reasons why I love One Tree Hill, Brooke Davis is the first. She is the perfect combination of sassy and sweet, she stands up for what she believes in, and she never forgets who she is or where she came from. B. Davis knows the right thing to say. Take these quotes with you wherever you go in life:

1. "At the end of the day, you are who you are, and it's probably who you've always been."

Throughout life, people will disappoint you and turn out to be who you least expected them to be. You can't change people, you can only work on yourself. Always try to better yourself, but never apologize for being yourself.

2. "I am one in a million."

Brooke and confidence go hand in hand. That's right. Sometimes being overconfident is okay. I mean, look where it got B. Davis.

3. "You know, in New York, I had everything I thought I wanted--money, celebrity, success--but you know what I didn't have? Sunrise with my best friend."

Brooke Davis taught us that in the end, having everything you ever wanted means nothing if the ones you love aren't there beside you.

4. "I used to miss you so much, but it never seemed like you missed me. I guess, because of that, I stopped missing you."

Although Brooke Davis didn't take sh*t from anyone, she constantly reminds you that it is necessary to express how you feel. Forgiveness is important, but it's okay to stop forgiving the same people over and over again. At a certain point, you're only hurting yourself. Moving on is a stepping stone in life.

5. "People who are meant to be together always find a way to each other."

B. Davis taught us to remember that there is a plan. As strange as it all may seem at the moment, it will work out.

6. "We all can use a little hope sometimes, you know. That feeling that everything's going to be okay."

She is the perfect example that everyone has their ups and downs. Everyone needs a little reassurance once in a while, and that's okay.

7. "You think you know me, but you don't. And that means you don't know what I can do."

Brooke went from party girl to Student Council President to creating her own fashion line. Follow her lead. Want something? Go get it.

8. "Life kicks you around sometimes. It scares you and it beats you up, but there's a day when you realize that you're not just a survivor, you're a warrior."

One of my personal favorite characteristics about Brooke is her ability to give advice. Take it from her, you're stronger than you know.

9. "I am not that girl anymore."

Brooke Davis grows as an individual throughout the seasons of One Tree Hill. It's a reminder that your past does not dictate your future.

10. "Clothes over bros."

I don't even think I need to go into detail about that one, ladies.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
