I grew up watching the original Disney movies. Most of us did. There was a certain kind of innocence that we all seemed infatuated with. That we are still infatuated with. And that's what this live version of "Lion King" lacked.
Aiming for more realistic than cartoon, the creators failed to achieve the Disney charm we all love. This "Lion King" was far too adult for its intended audience.
I enjoyed the music, but it could have been more powerful like in Disney's live version of "Aladdin." I just feel like the ball was dropped here.
My little brother was having a hard time telling the difference between the female lions. I don't blame him. They all looked the same, but again, Disney should have gone for cartoon and not real.
This movie also dwelled too much on young Simba than it did on adult Simba. I didn't get to see adult Simba as much as I would have liked.
I didn't need this remake, and it didn't live up to my expectations, but what can I do?
